Learn How Botox can effectively treat TMJ, Headaches, bruxism and facial pain.
Botox is often known as a cosmetic procedure to improve facial wrinkles. However, studies show patients who receive Botox treatment experience significant improvement in pain, function, ability to open their mouth and levels of tenderness to palpation. Botox has also shown to prevent headaches and migraines before they even start.
Much of the pain associated with headaches/migraines, TMJ and bruxism is caused by muscle. Botox alleviates this pain by relaxing and re-training the involved muscles. Botox lasts approximately 3 months and continued treatment is likely needed, but over time and with repeat treatments, the muscles re-train and treatments have a longer lasting affect.
